At 6:11 am the New Castle County Communications Center alerted Station 22 and Station 20 for a Tractor Trailer Fire. Originally reported as the rear brakes on fire, Engine 20-5 arrive to find the back half of the trailer involved with flames. Upon arrival of Engine 20-5 and Engine 22-2 an additional Engine and Fire Police were requested. 

Engine 28-5 responded and provided a supply line from a hydrant on Landers Spur, Kent County Engine 40 (enroute to a cover-up assignment) assisted with completion of the lay and supplied the Tanker from the DRBA. 

The bulk of  the fire was knocked down by 7:08 am and units remained onscene checking for hot spots and assisted the DRBA with containment. 

All fire department units cleared the Interstate at 8:29 am.
