Residential Fire W/Fire Showing - Unit BLK of Karlyn Drive (Garfield Park)

The communications center alerted Stations 22, Engine 20, Ladder & Engine 28/32 and Rescue 18 for a Residential Fire. Before units went responding the 2210 box was upgraded to a working alarm assignment, which brought Stations 23 for the RIT, Tower 11, Engine 17, B-16, Medic 1 and DSFMO. 208-C arrived 1st and reported a 1 story house with Heavy Fire Showing from the C side and established the Karlyn Drive Command. Squrt 20 arrived under command of Deputy Chief Willis with a crew of 5 and took the 1st due Engine assignment and hand jacked to the hydrant across the street from the residence. Squrt 20's crew advanced a 1 3/4 line to the front door and started to knock down the fire. Deputy 22 arrived and command was transfered to him. Shortly after due the rapidly deteriorating conditions, command requested an evacuation of the structure. All units were PAR and exterior operations began. After fire was darkened down, crews went back in to mop up. Situiation was placed under control authority of Command and Squrt 20 was placed back to service after a couple hours.
