First due residential fire with smoke showing - Unit BLK of Simonds Drive in Simonds Gardens

The communications center alerted Station 20, Engine 22, Engine 32, Ladder 18 and Rescue 28 for a residential fire. 20-5 made the response under command of Assistant Chief Maxwell with a crew of 4 and took the first due Engine assignment. 22-9B went on scene and reported heavy smoke showing. This report brought R-13 for the RIT assignment and BLS/ALS and DSFMO. 20-5 laid in from #63 and stretched 1" 3/4 to the front door. Bulk of the fire was in the attic and self vented through the C/D side of the roof. 20-5 crew quickly knocked the fire and performed primary search of the residence and results were negative. Command placed situation under control and all units assisted with salvage/overhaul and getting 20-5 back in service.
Chief Maxwell had the "Holloway Terrace Command"
Units on scene: 20-8, 20-5, R-20, A20, 22-2, L-18, 28-6, 32-5, R-13, ALS and DSFMO.
