Working residential fire - 300 BLK Sheridan Drive Simonds Gardens

Station 20 was alerted by the communications center along with Engine 22, Ladder 18, Rescue 28 and Engine 32 for a residential fire. Minutes later, 20-5 made the response under command of Deputy Chief Willis with a crew of 4. 20-5 arrived and stretched in from the closest hydrant. 20-8 arrived at the same time reporting heavy smoke showing from the attic. With this report, Claymont (R-13) was added for the RIT, A-23 for the BLS, Medic 1A for the ALS and FM-29 and FM-8 (DSFMO). 20-5's crew advanced an 1 3/4 line to the front door and made a quick knock down on the fire. Command assigned Ladder 18's crew to the roof to open up. Engine 22 performed the primary search and checked for fire extension along with R-20, 28-6 and 28-5's crews. also all units assisted with overhaul and getting the rigs back in service. Command placed situation under control @ 0738 hrs.
