Fatal House Fire - East Ave Holloway Terrace

At 1021 hours the Communications Center alerted Station 20, Engine 22, Engine 32, Engine 7 (Salem County, N.J.), Rescue 28, Ladder 18, Ladder 11, and Station 13 for the RIT Assignment for a Structure Fire with Entrapment. Only minutes after dispatch Captain 20 (A.J. Riccio Jr.) went onscene reporting smoke showing and confirmed subject trapped. Engine 20-5 went arrival shortly after and crews initiated and aggressive interior attack while searching for the victim. The victim was located and despite the promptness of fire company personnel the victim was beyond any help.
The remaining units arrived and assisted with bringing this situation under control.
During this incident 2 firefighters from Holloway Terrace received minor injuries and are doing fine.
The cause of this fire is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshalls Office.
The Holloway Terrace Fire Company would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family.
